Lenten Meditations

The Church of the Epiphany in Kingsville welcomes everyone to join in Lenten Noon-hour Organ Meditations, organized by the Royal Canadian College of Organists (RCCO). These meditations will be held every Wednesday from February 14 (Ash Wednesday) to March 20, from 12:15 to 12:45 pm.

Each meditation will feature an organist playing pieces composed for the pipe organ that evoke reflection and meditation. “The organ is a versatile and expressive instrument that can produce a wide range of sounds, from majestic and powerful,” says Paul Wharram, organist at the Church of the Epiphany and President of the Windsor Essex RCCO. “Yet the organ, with its delicate and expressive tones, can create different atmospheres and emotions, suitable for quiet meditation in our beautiful sanctuary adorned with stained-glass art.”

You are invited to come, listen, and meditate. There will be no interruptions, only music from Epiphany’s 1902 pipe organ, which was enhanced in 2012 merging modern technology and over 1,000 original vintage pipes. “We hope that the mid-week meditations will fit into your lunch hours. You are welcome to bring lunch if you like,” says Wharram.
